Green Bay April Update – April 27, 2020

We are thinking of you all in the midst of these unpredictable days. With so much happening in our cities, our country and our world we are being reminded of how important it is right now to choose joy. These are days filled with beautiful hidden blessings, and deep joys that we get to experience fully, simply because we are able to slow down long enough to see them. The uncertainty of these days has also come with heartache and sorrow for many. What we also know is that our God is good and He is faithful and He is at work even in the moments when we don’t see it or feel it. We want you to know that we are thinking of you all and praying for you in these days ahead and that your family’s love of Green Bay and support of this place is one of our deep joys today. While times are changing and many things are unknown, at this time we want to connect with you and keep you up to date on what is happening here at Green Bay.

LOOKING AHEAD:

Currently how is Green Bay moving forward with the COVID-19 situation?

  • Is Camp still open?
    • We have paused on all of our operations and rentals at this point in time
  • What is the best way to get hold of Green Bay during this time?
    • You can e-mail us at fun@greenbay.bc.ca or call (250) 768-588, we always love hearing from you!

Will Summer Camps happen this year?

  • We continue to monitor the government guidelines and health officials’ recommendations. Safety is a top priority, so we want to do what is best for the community and our GB Family.
  • We are planning and preparing for various options this summer if regular camp is not a go.
  • We will notify you as soon as we have clear direction from the government / health officials with what options, or alternatives, are available.

What about the May payments? 

  • We will continue to pause on collecting the May payment until we have a clear direction for the summer.
  • If you wish to still make a payment, please email, cheryl@greenbay.bc.ca.

Are refunds available?

  • Yes. We will be giving full refunds to people in the event that we are unable to offer our summer camp program due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

    • Due to COVID-19 Green Bay and our fellow BC Camps are seeking information from you as campers and families to help us navigate these coming months and to gather information to help us make critical decisions in this season.

THINGS THAT ARE PAUSED FOR THE MONTH OF MAY:

  • May Work Weekend
    • The annual May Work Weekend is one of our highlights with families as we prepare the campus for the upcoming summer season. It is a significant weekend for us at Green Bay as it helps us prepare for the summer. Continuing to follow government and public health guidelines, we are paused on this weekend. When these restrictions change, if you are interested to assist us at a later date, please email us and let us know that you would be willing to be contacted when further details are available.   • Annual General Meeting (AGM)
    • In this unique and challenging season, like all of you, we are modifying ways to connect here at Green Bay. We are so thankful for technology that allows us to continue to connect, grow and serve others in our community and our country. One way that we are needing to modify this spring is how we host our Annual General Meeting which is May 9that 7pm. Unfortunately, we will not be able to gather and celebrate the 2019 year of ministry with our annual banquet, BUT we are still able to gather through a zoom platform.
    • Please join us as we reflect on Green Bay Bible Camps 65thyear of ministry, hearing the life changing and exciting stories of God at work in the hearts of those in our community.
    • Please rsvp to cheryl@greenbay.bc.ca by May 4th, 2020 if you will be in attendance, and she will send you the zoom link information.
    • Annual Society Membership Fee – $25. You can pay your annual membership fee online through our donation page. Click the arrow on the drop down menu and select “$25 Annual Society Membership” to complete your payment.

PRAY WITH US FOR: 

  • God’s leading and and provision in this time.
  • The leadership of our government and health officials.
  • Our Pastors.
  • Wisdom as we seek to serve our community in these days.
  • Gratitude for all those who are working to serve our communities on the frontlines. We know many members of our Green Bay community are serving as essential workers during this time and we want to extend our deepest thanks to each of you for the ways you are serving, caring and loving others so well.

As a Green Bay Family, thank you for your support, prayers, and check ins, we are so grateful to have a community who cares so deeply for this place and for our people. God is good and faithful and amidst these times our mission remains the same. We seek to help people grow in a bigger, clearer and fuller understanding of who Jesus is as we commit to Strengthening Families, Building Leaders, and Growing Kids. May these unknown days ahead be peace filled for you and your family.
