Camper Information
For Kids Day Camp and Teen Day Camp there will be information that you will need to complete including, immunization shots and dates, if they have had them, Dentist, Doctor’s name and phone number, Health Insurance Card #, any Medication and description, so it is a good idea to have all of this information ready at your fingertips so the process runs smoothly for you.
Activities & Speakers
In years past we have been able to have campers register for Family Camp Activities during our registration process. Typically you have been able to register for Ski School, Breakfast Club, Babysitting etc. during this online registration process, but this year is going to look a little different. You will notice when you log in that those options are currently not available. We are working behind the scenes to confirm what will be possible in this season and will send out additional information to our community when we have more details on how you can register for these activities.
You may also have noticed that we have not yet released our Guest Speaker line up for the 2021 season. Know that we are hard at work preparing an incredible summer filled with speakers who will teach, equip and inspire us on our Faith journey. More information on our Speaker Line up and the 2021 Summer theme coming soon … stay tuned!
Discipleship Training Program
We have been so encouraged by the investment into our Discipleship Training Program for the upcoming Camp season. We wanted to make sure that you were equipped with the most up to date information so that you are ready to partner with your camper in the online application process this coming Saturday. Check out our DTP FAQ’s below:
When does registration open?
All Summer Camp Registrations including DTP Applications will be available online starting Saturday February 27th at 9:00am PST
What are the dates for each DTP term? How much does the Program cost?
Term 1: July 4 – 24 | $503.00 + GST
Term 2: July 25 – August 14 | $503.00 + GST
Term 3: August 15 – 28 |$407.00 + GST
How old does my camper need to be to enter the DTP Program?
We recognize that for so many students they missed out on a lot last year and for many, milestone experiences were cancelled or postponed. Our heart is to create an opportunity for students to still experience the fun, excitement and adventure of DTP and so because of that we have decided to extend the age bracket for DTP this year from Grades 9-11. This means that students can apply to the program if they are entering grades 9, 10 or 11 in the fall of 2021. The minimum age to apply will be 13 and the maximum age will be 16.
Are you still doing D1 and D2 this summer?
Since we are accepting a reduced number of participants into the DTP Program this summer, we have made the decision to remove the D1 and D2 tiers for the 2021 Season. Instead, we will simply have a DTP Program that will encompass all students who are registered for that term. We recognize that students who are 13 will be at a very different life stage than those who are 16 and so we are already anticipating ways in which we will adapt sessions in order to meet program participants at their age and stage in life. If you have more questions on how this will look please contact our Leadership and Discipleship Manager Kaitlyn at kaitlyn@greenbay.bc.ca
Can I register my camper for multiple terms of DTP?
Due to our reduced capacity this summer we want to ensure that as many campers as possible are able to experience the Program. As a result, we are asking that families please consider choosing one term of DTP to register for and to let us know if you would like to be added to a waitlist if there is space in an additional Term. All waitlist inquiries can be sent to kaitlyn@greenbay.bc.ca
Where can I find the application form?
The DTP Application form can only be accessed online through our registration system and will be available starting Saturday February 27th at 9:00am PST. Click here to access the online application form through our registration system on Saturday.
What do campers do during their time in the Program?
Over the course of their time with us, students will have the chance to deepen their faith, grow in their leadership skills, build lasting relationships as they live in community, serve around campus to support our kitchen, facilities and program team, as well as have time to experience the incredible fun that camp provides. It’s a wholistic program that centres around 5 key elements: Faith Formation, Leadership Development, Community, Service and Experience. Students grow in relationship with one another, they learn practical skills for any volunteer, work or school context and they get to experience the incredible fun that camp offers.
Does my camper need to fill out the application or can I do it for them?
It will be important for you to have your camper with you as you complete the online application as there will be specific questions that they will need to fill out personally.
Do campers need to supply references along with their application? Where can I find the reference form?
Yes. All applicants will be required to submit three references along with their application. Once campers have submitted their application, they will receive a confirmation email that will provide a link to an online reference form. Campers will need to send this link to three references who will click the link, complete the form and submit it online. Once a Camper has submitted their application and our team has received their three references their application will be ready for review and acceptance can then be offered into the Program.
My Camper filled out an application for the Program last year – do they need to resubmit one again?
Yes. Due to our accreditation process Campers will need to re-apply and submit a new application as we require a new one for each year.
How many spots are available each term?
Due to COVID we will have a reduced number of participants accepted into the DTP Program this year. We will be accepting 18 participants each term for a total of 54 campers over the course of the summer.
We are optimistically planning for an incredible 2021 camp season with our campus full of Family Campers, Day Campers, DTP Students and Staff. We want to continue to abide by the regulations our government has in place and if those regulations change and impact our summer plans we will let our community know as soon as possible. To learn more about our Cancellation Policy in this season please read through the information below:
