COVID-19 Update – May 15, 2020
[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]
Dear Green Bay Family,
Thank you for your patience with us as we navigate these unprecedented days and wrestle with the impact of this pandemic on our 2020 summer experience at Green Bay. It is difficult to fully comprehend the impact of the coronavirus on our lives and communities in such a short amount of time. Yet, incredibly, it has also brought many of us closer together. We’ve seen families grow in connectedness as they get outside and play together, watched friendships strengthen as people have loved sacrificially and dropped off care packages to one another, and celebrated communities who have chosen to stand in solidarity as they stand 6 feet apart. In the midst of the difficulties of lost jobs, the cancellation of milestone moments, and uncertain futures, we are grateful for these small gifts. We have so appreciated hearing/reading your stories of how life in quarantine, as hard as it has been, has also been full of beautiful moments– God is very much present in our lives. We are so thankful for your prayers, encouragement, shared hope, and support.
So many of you have reached out wondering what this summer might look like. We have been optimistic about camp for the 2020 season, and yet have come to the realization that camp as we know it will look different this year. It is with heavy hearts that we have made the difficult decision to cancel regular camps for summer 2020.
While we are in the beginning phases of the BC Restart Plan, the Provincial Health Officer, the Minister of Health, and the Premier have all been clear that mass gatherings such as concerts and sporting events, as well as large family weddings will not be permitted in the months ahead. We will continue to honour the provincial requirements for gathering and together we will responsibly work towards a solution caring for the safety of others.
While camp as we have known it for 65 years will take a pause, God is still at work. His love is constant and His grace is given in abundance. We have peace knowing God goes before us, behind us and alongside us as we journey through this new season together. We are also exploring alternative options of how our campus can be used in this season to continue to fulfill the mission of Green Bay. We will continue to update you as soon as more information becomes available. To ensure you are receiving the latest updates please make sure you are subscribed to our newsletter and continue to check in on our website and social media channels.
For those who are currently registered for Summer 2020 at Green Bay we are offering 3 options for any camper fees already paid, including a full refund. Even though we have made the difficult decision to not run camp this summer, we still have ongoing costs related to the year-round operations to maintain the camp. We are making every effort to reduce our expenses at this time, but we still need your help. If you are able to donate we would love to speak with you. For more information on fees and refunds please read below.
Thank you for being part of our Green Bay Family. Our prayer is that each of you experience deep peace in these uncertain times, and we can hardly wait until we are able to gather as family again at Green Bay Bible Camp.
Sincerely,
Board of Directors

I applied to be on staff and DTP this coming summer, what does this mean for me?
With a shift in camp this upcoming summer and the cancellation of our overnight summer camp programs, we unfortunately are unable to employ a summer staff team for the 2020 season. All Summer Staff & Volunteers for Summer 2020 will have an email in their inboxes this afternoon from Kaitlyn and Jon Mark regarding how these changes have impacted their roles this summer.
What will you be doing if the government lifts restrictions and increases gathering sizes for August?
If government restrictions and gathering limitations are lifted, we will dance a little bit, and then explore possibilities and update our Green Bay community as soon as possible. And we will all celebrate and cheer together!![/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row]
